The Opportunity

JLR Classic is part of the Special Vehicle Operations Division of JLR, based at Oxford Road in Ryton. Classic is responsible for engineering, manufacturing and direct selling Classic Vehicle Programmes such as Jaguar C-Type, Jaguar E-Type 60th Anniversary Edition and Defender L316 Works Trophy Editions.
In addition to its low volume vehicle programmes, which are run using a “lite” version of JLR’s PCDS process, Classic sells Classic “Works Legends” via the Ryton (UK) and Essen (Germany) showrooms and also has a significant Parts revenue stream. Classic operates a direct selling model to customers and aims to be profitable each year to generate value for JLR in addition to preserving and celebrating JLR’s heritage.
Reporting to the Parts & Accessories Manager, the Licensing Co-ordinator is a key role in expanding the Classic Parts and Accessories product catalogue through facilitating new licensing deals and promoting products which appropriately represent the heritage of the Jaguar and Land Rover brands.

WHAT TO EXPECTKey Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the execution of commodity and supplier licensing strategy as defined by the Parts and Accessories Manager, including the effective operational relationships with each of the designated suppliers in remit.
  • Conduct supplier negotiations to achieve the desired licensing outcome.
  • As required support analysis of Make vs Buy business justification for responsible commodities
  • Source and maintain CAD and test data for responsible commodities to support engineering validation
  • Work with Licensee’s, Licensing Agency and JLR Finance to provide regular reporting of royalties and partner sales performance
  • Maintain and keep updated relevant tracking documents and filing systems including Licensee product development, product sample trackers, contracts and all other legal documentation
  • Support the legal department in issuing official documents relating to JLR IP where necessary
  • Undertake any other work as directed by line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time
